The gospel music community in Rwanda and Uganda is mourning the death of Musabyimana Gloriose, widely known by her stage name Gogo, who passed away on the night of September 3, 2025, in Uganda after a short illness.

A medical report from Kyegera Doctors Center confirmed her death.

According to her close associate Bikem Uwayesu, Gogo left Rwanda on August 28 to attend a gospel crusade in Mbarara, which ran from August 29 to 31. Following the event, she and her team proceeded to Kampala for a scheduled promotional engagement.

However, shortly after her arrival in the capital, she reportedly fell ill and her condition deteriorated rapidly. Despite being rushed to hospital, doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Gogo was a celebrated Rwandan gospel artist who had earned recognition for her powerful voice, uplifting lyrics, and ministry that inspired believers across the region. Her sudden death has left fans, colleagues, and the wider gospel fraternity in shock and mourning.

Funeral arrangements and official tributes are expected to be announced by her family and church community in the coming days.
