SOROTI - As the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) prepares to administer the 2025 Uganda Certificate and Advanced Certificate of Education (UCE & UACE) examinations, Rt Rev Dr Joseph Eciru Oliach, Bishop of the Soroti Catholic Diocese, is set to bless candidates of Jeressar High School in Soroti.

The blessing ceremony, scheduled for October 5, 2025, will take place at the school premises. According to Mr. Joseph Kasada, the Deputy Head Teacher, the bishop’s presence and prayers are intended to uplift the students’ spirits and boost their confidence as they approach the national exams.

“Jeressar High School is always known for delivering victorious blessings, and we are very optimistic that these prayers will help eradicate any examination phobia the candidates may have,” Mr. Kasada said.

He added that the school has a long-standing tradition of combining academic excellence with spiritual guidance, noting that the bishop’s blessing will help ease exam-related anxieties among students.

Mr. Kasada also extended an invitation to parents to attend the event and take part in praying for their children’s success. “We encourage parents to join us on this important day. It will be an opportunity for you to pray for your children and ensure they are well-prepared for the exams,” he said.

However, he cautioned that once the blessing ceremony is concluded, no parent will be allowed access to the candidates until the end of the exam period. He also emphasized that food will not be permitted on the school premises during the event.

With the UCE and UACE examinations drawing near, Jeressar High School remains hopeful that the bishop’s blessing will offer students the much-needed spiritual and emotional support to face their exams with confidence and peace of mind.
