Bukedea District:President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commended the people of the Teso Sub-Region for their continued support toward the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and hailed the prevailing peace, stability, and development in the area as clear evidence of the party’s achievements over the years.
Speaking during his final campaign rally in Bukedea District, President Museveni emphasized that the transformation witnessed in Teso and across the country is a direct result of the NRM government’s deliberate policies focused on peacebuilding, infrastructure development, and wealth creation.
“The peace and progress that Ugandans enjoy today did not come by accident. They are a result of our consistent efforts under the NRM to ensure security, promote development, and empower households to create wealth,” President Museveni said. He added that the NRM’s commitment to socio-economic transformation continues to guide government programs aimed at improving the livelihoods of ordinary citizens.
The President outlined several key developments achieved in the Teso Sub-Region under his administration, including improved road networks, access to electricity, and investments in education and health services. He encouraged residents to embrace government programs such as the Parish Development Model and Emyooga to further enhance household incomes.
Vice President Retired Major Jessica Rose Alupo Epel, who hails from the region, called on the people of Teso to maintain their trust in President Museveni, noting that his leadership has brought tangible benefits to the area. She cited the region’s steady development and increasing economic activity as proof of his effective governance.
“Under President Museveni, Teso has experienced real transformation. From peace and stability to social services and opportunities for wealth creation, we can all see the results of his leadership,” Vice President Alupo stated.
Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among also expressed gratitude to the President for his continued support of the Teso Sub-Region. She highlighted his inclusivity in national leadership, pointing to several key appointments of leaders from Teso to prominent government positions as a sign of his appreciation and confidence in the region.
“President Museveni has always recognized and empowered the people of Teso. We thank him for giving our region a voice in national leadership,” Speaker Among remarked.
As the President concluded his campaign in Teso, he reaffirmed the NRM’s commitment to consolidating peace and driving Uganda toward a self-sustaining economy. He urged voters to continue supporting the NRM for continued progress and stability, saying that the next phase of Uganda’s development depends on maintaining the gains already achieved.
The rally in Bukedea marked the end of President Museveni’s campaign trail in the Teso Sub-Region, as he moves to other parts of the country in line with the Electoral Commission’s campaign calendar. His message remained clear , peace, development, and wealth creation are the foundation of Uganda’s future under the NRM.
