The Iteso Cultural Union (ICU) has launched a landmark initiative, the Teso Hall of Fame, aimed at permanently documenting and celebrating the achievements of its most distinguished subjects. In a recent address marking the launch, ICU Prime Minister Andrew Ochole called upon the Iteso people to uphold unwavering discipline, hard work, and respect if they wish their legacies to stand the test of time.
Prime Minister Ochole stated that the new initiative is designed to inspire future generations by recognizing current and past individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of Teso across vital sectors.
“If you want your legacy to be preserved in the cultural records of Teso, you must uphold discipline, hard work, and respect,” Ochole told his subjects.
Ochole revealed that the ICU has already established a dedicated space named the Hall of Fame. This room will serve as a permanent archive where the accomplishments of outstanding contributors in areas such as health, education, culture, and community development will be displayed and preserved for posterity.
The Prime Minister emphasized the long-term impact of the initiative, noting that those honored in this space “will be celebrated in all ages.” He asserted that the Hall of Fame is intended to be a powerful tool to foster excellence and patriotism among the Iteso community.
According to Ochole, inclusion in the Hall of Fame is an aspirational goal linked directly to individual conduct. He encouraged all subjects to actively engage in meaningful developmental activities, stressing that the cultural institution’s core mission is to promote a heritage of excellence that requires collective participation.
“Work hard, remain disciplined, and engage in meaningful developmental activities if you aspire to be included,” Ochole advised. “Every individual has a role to play in shaping the future of Teso.”
In addition to the cultural recognition program, Prime Minister Ochole made a pivotal announcement regarding the union’s physical infrastructure. He confirmed that the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new ICU Palace has been officially scheduled for December 13, 2025.
The planned palace is set to become a central symbol of cultural identity, unity, and leadership for the entire Iteso community, serving as the official seat of the cultural union.
Ochole issued a strong call for unified support behind the massive construction undertaking, stating that the success of the project is entirely dependent on collective effort.
He urged all subjects to “warmly embrace the project by actively participating, contributing, and offering full support,” underlining the importance of unity of purpose in bringing the vital cultural center to fruition.
