Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Presidential candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat has been granted non-cash bail of Shs 5 million after spending a night at Mpigi Central Police Station (CPS).
The barefooted presidential candidate was arrested yesterday as he conversed for votes in Mpigi district.
Mpigi Grade One Court by Magistrate Ruth Nabaasa earlier today, Amuriat charged with riding atop his vehicle and was subsequently released on non-cash bail of Shs5m. Sureties were however ordered to pay Shs10m non-cash bond.
This is the second time Amuriat is being charged for the same offence.
Amuriat was again arrested and detained for over four hours at Katwe Police Station few minutes after Mpigi Court set him free.
He is expected to conclude his vote hunt in Serere and Ngora districts on Tuesday 12th January.
