I have learnt that the Teso music industry of today is filled with lots of young talents. As an upcoming artist for you to be ahead of other artists in Teso and Uganda at large, please do the following.
1. MAKE GOOD MUSIC
Making good music is the first step if you wish to blow in music. Your music should have good content and something that will entice your target audience.
2. PERFORM YOUR MUSIC
People might listen and like your songs but if they do not know the face behind it, they might not follow up on your next releases. Performing your music is the best way to sell your face as you put out your music. Another advantage of performing your music is that you can also earn from it.
3. PROMOTE YOUR MUSIC
It is only by music promotion that others can get to know your music. You can promote your music on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Whatsapp. You can submit your music to marketers, DJ's to add in their mixes.
4. DO FEATURES AND COLLABORATIONS
If you have access to other musicians who can deliver good content, collaborating with them sells your music career.
5. CONNECT WITH FANS
Every successful musician is nothing without their fans. If you have to succeed, you have to build your fan base.
6. HUMILITY & PATIENCE
Humility and Patience are life virtues and you need them if you are going to succeed in the music industry, you need to be humble to those that were there before you.
7. HAVE A BACKUP PLAN
Try to have a backup plan should in case things didn’t go as planned, i advise you get an educational qualification or better still learn a trade.
