Priscilla Ariokot Emiaku earlier this week put Teso on the map after she won a modeling contest that was organized by Makerere University virtually that run for three days of 13th-15th August and was later pronounced winner on the 16th.
Emiaku, aged 18 applied for the modeling category where she was competing with more than fifteen freshers but she emerged victorious after the judges were pleased by her presentation.
While having an interview with this website, Emiaku who could not hide her joy said that modeling was always her passion, following the instructions from the judges and having confidence in herself made her win the competition.
The voting was carried out in one day as every contestant’s video was uploaded to Makerere varsity fresher’s page where voting where likes and comments were considered as votes.
‘’ We were put in three different cohorts as modelers, I was in the second cohort as each cohort had to present where we had to present different tasks given to us like recording cat walking video in your cultural wear while relating to the theme ‘’upholding talent amidst a pandemic’’ Emiaku said
‘’The judges had a day to themselves to look through all the presentations made by the three cohorts where I was pronounced the winner on the 16th of this month’’ She added
Emiaku who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science and metrology as a fresher won a cash prize that she preferred to keep confidential, crown and hamper that she will be getting from Univerity once the studies resume.
