The Electoral Commission Uganda has released the programme for conducting the by-election of Member of Parliament for Oyam County North, Oyam District.
The by–election programme has commenced today Thursday,18th May 2023 with an update of the National Voters’ Register until Monday 22nd May 2023 at update stations in each of the thirty-nine (39) parishes and wards in Oyam County North .
The nomination of candidates will be conducted on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th June, 2023 at the Office of the District Returning Officer, Oyam.
Campaign meetings will be conducted for thirteen (13) days, from Thursday 22nd June to Tuesday 4th July 2023.
Polling and tallying of results is scheduled for Thursday 6th July 2023 at all the 167 polling stations in Oyam County North Constituency.
The Oyam North Parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of the former MP., Hon. Col. (Ret.) Charles Okello Engola on 2nd May 2023.
