Renowned MC and comedian in the Teso sub-region, RPC Abrabumbe, has announced the difficult decision to end his comedy career following the untimely death of his daughter.
Abrabumbe made this announcement today through an emotional post on his Facebook page, expressing that he never anticipated that his daughter’s death would mark the end of his career. He also took the opportunity to thank those who supported him during this challenging time.
In one of the voice notes shared, Abrabumbe explained the sorrowful circumstances that led to his decision, revealing that it was prompted by the negative reactions from his own community.
"I appreciate everyone who has stood by me on this journey, but I never imagined that the death of my daughter would reveal how unwanted I was in my own clan. Even my mother, who raised me from the age of three months after separating from my father, has recently been treating me differently. At a recent family meeting, she had a lot to say about me," he shared in a voice note.
Abrabumbe, long cherished for his comedy performances, will be greatly missed in the industry. However, he has vowed to continue working as an MC, while stepping away from comedy.
