The Rev Vicky Ecipu, Reverend of St Paul Church of Uganda in Katakwi, has expressed concern over the disunity factor towards the leaders of Teso.
She made this during an exclusive interview with our report on Sunday at St. Paul Church of Uganda.
According to Reverend Ecipu, disunity among the leaders in Teso has brought a big gap in service delivery among them.
“Most of the people in the districts have been left behind from developmental matters because a number of them are focusing on invaluable things like playing Ludo, Cards, Gamboling, and drunkenness,” she said.
This is an indication that they might cause havoc soon, considering that most of them have not changed their mindset towards development.
The cleric's comments come at a time when in the wee hours of last week youth staged at Abela rock point called ACOMAI and stoned players who were coming back from their football match which left all the mirrors of the Taxis destroyed.
She cautions leaders to desist from buying unprofitable things to youth i.e. Aluddo, and Mwezo but set up possible ways of changing their mindset.
However the Resident district commissioner Katakwi Rt. Maj Godfrey Katamba condemned the act and warned the youth to desist from leprosy manners and focus on poverty eradication in their households.
“As security head in the district, we have already deployed all the security agencies in the district to curb vice during and after the festive season” RDC added.
Katamba who was ferrous during an interview with our reporter assured the Katakwi district of peace and security and warned the wrong elements to desist from unlawful acts or they would face rough.
