NGORA - As Uganda gears up for the National Population and Housing Census 2024 from May 10 to May 19, 2024, the voice of Ngora County's legislature, Achayo Juliet Lodou Ekellot, resonates, urging every resident to join hands in this vital endeavor.

 

With a passionate plea, Achayo who raised these remarks today underscores the immense significance of this national exercise, emphasizing its potential to shape not only the county but also the destiny of the entire nation.

 

"As your Member of Parliament," she declares, "I urge you all to participate in the upcoming census." Her call echoes with a sense of duty and civic responsibility, urging citizens to recognize the importance of their involvement.

 

Highlighting the crucial nature of the census, Achayo stresses, "This is a crucial exercise that will help us determine our population size, age, sex, and other vital demographic characteristics." She emphasizes the pivotal role of this data in informing policy decisions and resource allocation for years to come.

 

Achayo articulates the tangible benefits of active participation, emphasizing how each counted individual contributes directly to the development agenda. "By getting counted," she asserts, "you will be contributing to the development of our county and the nation at large."

The National Population and Housing Census 2024, scheduled from May 9 to May 19, marks a significant milestone for Uganda's development agenda after President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni launched the NPHC 2024 activity on December 12, 2023, underscoring the government's commitment to accurate and timely demographic, social, and economic statistics.

 

Utilizing digital technology, the census aims to streamline data collection, processing, and dissemination, enabling the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) to produce comprehensive and reliable statistics essential for informed decision-making and sustainable development.
