The newly elected National Resistance Movement (NRM) Parliamentary Caucus Spokesperson, Hon. Orone Derrick, has pledged to promote unity within the ruling party while strengthening communication between Parliament, the media, and the public.
Hon. Orone, the Member of Parliament for Gogonyo County, expressed gratitude to the NRM Parliamentary Caucus for entrusting him with the responsibility of serving as its spokesperson. He described his election as a demonstration of the confidence and trust his colleagues have in his leadership and ability to bring people together.
"I am grateful to the NRM Caucus for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to serve. I believe I was elected because I am a social person who values unity and enjoys bringing people together," Hon. Orone said.
The legislator emphasized that unity will remain the cornerstone of his leadership, noting that a united caucus is better positioned to advance the party's legislative agenda and deliver on its commitments to Ugandans.
Hon. Orone also pledged to foster a cordial and professional working relationship with the media, recognizing journalists as key partners in informing the public about parliamentary debates, government policies, and the NRM's legislative priorities.
He said he would ensure timely, accurate, and transparent communication on the party's activities in Parliament while encouraging constructive engagement with all stakeholders.
As he assumes his new role, Hon. Orone reaffirmed his commitment to serving with integrity, accountability, and dedication. He expressed optimism that through teamwork, dialogue, and effective communication, the NRM Parliamentary Caucus will continue to strengthen its service to the people and contribute to Uganda's national development.
