Soroti City — In the wake of recent tensions that unfolded during a music concert in Soroti City, the Iteso Cultural Union has stepped forward to mediate and restore harmony within Teso’s creative industry.

The Union, through the Office of the State Minister for Tourism and Documentation led by Joseph Ojatum, has announced a reconciliation dialogue aimed at bringing together artists, media practitioners, bloggers, MCs, DJs, and event organizers.

The upcoming dialogue meeting is scheduled for May 31, 2025, at Hyde Park in Soroti City. The event will run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM under the theme: "Restoring Respect, Rebuilding Relationships, and Strengthening the Creative Culture in Teso."

The Union described the recent fallout at the concert as "deeply regrettable," emphasizing that such incidents threaten the unity, professionalism, and growth of the creative sector in the region. “This industry is one of the strongest expressions of Teso’s talent and heritage,” reads the official statement. “We must not allow conflict to damage the progress made over the years.”

The dialogue is designed to create a platform for open communication, healing, and forward planning. It is not meant to assign blame but to provide space for reflection, mutual understanding, and collective problem-solving.

Leaders from the Iteso Cultural Union have called on all stakeholders to attend with a spirit of cooperation and a willingness to listen. By doing so, the Union hopes to turn a moment of public discord into a turning point for the region’s creative and cultural development.

This initiative underscores the Union’s ongoing commitment to preserving unity and promoting a collaborative environment where Teso’s creative talents can thrive without fear of division or disrespect.

For further information, the Iteso Cultural Union encourages concerned parties to reach out through official communication channels ahead of the scheduled meeting.
