Kapir County MP aspirant Ichoto Julius, also known as Jeje Eminat, has officially departed from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) to align himself with the newly established Democratic Front party.

This announcement was made during the launch of the Democratic Front's Teso subregional branch in Soroti City last week.

Ichoto expressed dissatisfaction with the NRM, citing instances of unfairness that led to his decision to leave the party.

He recounted a troubling experience when he attempted to pick up nomination forms to contest for the Kapir County MP seat, only to discover that his name had been removed from the NRM register without any prior notification or explanation.

“I went to pick nomination forms to contest for Kapir County MP seat but was surprised to find my name deleted from NRM register without any explanation,” Ichoto stated, highlighting the lack of transparency within the party.

In his statement, Ichoto conveyed optimism about his decision to join the Democratic Front, describing it as a “party of value.”

He praised the leadership of the Democratic Front, particularly commending the party leader, Mpuuga, for his approach which focuses on fighting for issues rather than conflict with individuals.

“Mpuuga doesn’t fight people but rather fights for issues,” Ichoto noted, emphasizing his belief in the party's values and mission.

Ichoto will now be contesting for the Kapir County MP seat on the Democratic Front ticket, marking a significant shift in his political career and aspirations.
