His Royal Majesty Union Olarker Philip Rauni (III) Set to Deliver Year-End Message of Peace to Subjects in Kampala
The 10th Edition of the Alur Cultural Festival is set for a historic celebration this Sunday, December 7th, after organizers confirmed that the King of Alur Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Union Olarker Philip Rauni (III), will attend as the highly anticipated chief guest.
The festival, a major showcase of Alur heritage, is scheduled to take place at Millennium Park in Lugogo, drawing thousands of Alur subjects and cultural enthusiasts residing in and around Kampala.
The confirmation was officially announced this afternoon during a press conference by Chief Omwon Denis, the CEO of the Alur Cultural Festival.
“Our chief guest will be the King of Alur Kingdom,” Chief Omwon stated. “He will use this opportunity to pass a crucial message of peace and love to our people.”
He further revealed that the cultural leader's attendance is particularly significant as he intends to deliver his final message of the year to his subjects living in the capital city, providing guidance and encouragement as the year draws to a close.
Organizers emphasized that the 10th edition will be a comprehensive celebration of Alur cultural identity, focusing on traditional music and dance.
Dr. Roy, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, detailed the expected activities.
“We are celebrating Alur cultural heritage that is divided into two aspects, including our cultural dance and music like Agwara and Dara,” Dr. Roy explained, assuring attendees of vibrant and authentic displays of the kingdom’s artistic traditions.
Beyond the essential cultural displays, the festival promises high-energy entertainment from prominent artists across the region, catering to diverse tastes among the revelers.
Dr. Roy confirmed a stellar lineup of performers, including Eezzy, Jabirunga, Red Python, Raggz, Okeng Born Town, MC Kash Owakabi, Black Mamba, Smart Eddie, and Prossy, among others. These artists are expected to keep the celebratory atmosphere alive throughout the evening.
With the high profile nature of the event and the expected large crowds, security has been a chief concern for the organizers.
However, the Uganda Police Force has stepped forward to assure the public. According to the organizing committee, the police have confirmed that adequate safety and security measures will be in place to protect the revelers and ensure the 10th edition of the Alur Cultural Festival proceeds without incident.
