The Member of Parliament for Orungo County, General Jeje Odongo, has called upon young people to adopt resilience and innovation as key drivers of success in entrepreneurship. The message was delivered through his representative, Olabor Emmy Eyuk, during ateker young  entrepreneurs symposium aimed at promoting economic empowerment and self-reliance.

Eyuk emphasized that business success requires determination, adaptability, and a willingness to learn from challenges. He noted that entrepreneurs must remain committed even when faced with setbacks, citing the importance of adjusting strategies in situations such as losses in livestock or crop production.

He further encouraged youth to explore opportunities in agriculture, including citrus farming, agribusiness, and animal husbandry, describing the sector as one of the most underutilized yet promising sources of income. In addition, he highlighted the growing potential of the digital economy, urging young people to engage in phone repair, e-commerce, and other technology-based enterprises.

The representative also stressed the importance of financial discipline, saving, and starting small with available resources. He encouraged innovation such as converting agricultural waste into briquettes to create income and reduce environmental waste. Youth were further urged to avoid immorality and drug abuse, and instead focus on building sustainable livelihoods through cooperation and enterprise development across Orungo County.
