The NRM Chairpersons of Greater Nebbi, RDC Zombo, and members of the NRM delegates warmly welcomed David Calvin Echodu, aspiring NRM National Vice Chairperson Eastern Region, to the region. The LC5 Chairman, along with the four team leaders comprising Chairpersons from Pakwach, Nebbi Municipal, Nebbi District, and Zombo District, expressed gratitude for being the first to receive Echodu in the subregion. "We are grateful to be the first to receive Calvin in the subregion," the LC5 Chairman said. "We applaud the delegates for their support of the party."
Ambassador Nelson Ocheger, Echodu's campaign chairman, introduced him as a young man with a vision, highlighting his contributions to party activities. "Calvin is an action man," Ocheger said.
"His actions speak louder than words. He has actively supported NRM from his early age, and his contributions to the party are evident in his physical, spiritual, and financial support for Museveni."
Echodu addressed the delegates, outlining his agenda. "I promise to bring quality representation for the grassroot to the chairman," he said. "I will work with the grass roots, ensure inclusivity, and open up Saccos for the delegates, with the party funding them since it's the party in power. I will also ease movement of delegates by ensuring that party offices at district level have facilitation for daily running. I am bringing new energy to the party, and I believe that with the President's strong leadership, we only need new minds and brains to take the party to the next level."
The RDC of Zombo praised Echodu's character, saying, "From what I have seen and heard about Calvin, he is a down-to-earth man with a clear vision." He advised delegates to maintain peace and avoid hatred and fights over politics.
Miss Irene, the ONC Coordinator, emphasized the importance of inclusivity of the women in the empowerment schedule, stating that they vote for the President more. She also reechoed the idea of improvement of road infrastructure in the subregion.
An elder, Okello, spoke about the need for recognition of veterans who fought for peace in the region. "The President should remember the subregion for their older men who fought for peace and have never been recognized," he said.
Echodu responded to the concerns raised, assuring the delegates that he would work closely with President Museveni to address their concerns. "I will make sure that we empower the delegates and ensure that they are able to handle government programs effectively," he said.
The delegates were impressed by Echodu's agenda and unanimously endorsed him for the position of NRM National Vice Chairperson Eastern Region.
