Amuria District — Teddy Anyuk Osire, a rising political figure and aspiring Member of Parliament for Orungo County in Amuria District, has officially picked nomination forms from the NRM Headquarters, declaring her candidacy with a firm promise to drive development and bring transformative leadership to the region.

Osire, who is running on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket, has outlined an ambitious plan to tackle key challenges affecting the people of Orungo County — including crumbling infrastructure, poor healthcare services, and limited access to quality education. Her campaign message is centered on dignity, hope, and tangible development.

In recent months, Osire has rolled out a number of community-focused initiatives that reflect her commitment to improving the welfare of her constituents. These include donating mattresses to under-equipped health centers, providing chairs for community gatherings, launching the "Keep Orungo Clean" campaign, and rehabilitating several broken boreholes to ensure access to clean water. She has also supported women and youth groups by offering seed capital to boost savings and income-generating ventures.

“These are not just promises, but actions that show the direction I intend to take. Orungo deserves leaders who act, not just speak,” Osire stated after picking her nomination forms.

She emphasized the need for fairness and equity in national development programs, saying, “The people of Orungo should not be left behind. We deserve equal attention and resources like every other region.”

Known for her inclusive approach, Osire advocates for unity and transparency in leadership. She believes that by fostering cohesion among leaders in Amuria District and the wider Teso sub-region, sustainable development can be achieved.

Her community-centered approach has already gained traction among voters. Joseph Odeng, the LC3 chairperson of Morungatuny Sub-county, applauded Osire’s efforts and encouraged voters to support leaders who are genuinely committed to progress.

"As voters, we need to look beyond politics and support those who are practical and development-oriented. Teddy has shown us what servant leadership can look like,” Odeng remarked.
