SOROTI CITY — One of Teso’s top gospel singers, Mary Mwanika, is set to headline the Shekinah Praise Celebration Live Band, a gospel event aimed at bringing believers and music lovers together for an afternoon of worship, praise and community engagement.
The celebration is scheduled for Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Erimu College in Soroti City, with members of the public invited to attend.
Mary Mwanika, who is recognised as one of the leading gospel voices in the Teso region, will take centre stage in a live band experience expected to feature powerful praise and worship performances.
The event will also include performing arts, giving participants an opportunity to experience a blend of gospel music and creative performances.
Beyond music and worship, the celebration will incorporate community initiatives, including blood donation, HIV testing and counselling, highlighting the organisers’ commitment to combining faith with social responsibility.
The event is inspired by Psalm 150:6, which calls on everyone with breath to praise the Lord.
Organisers are encouraging Christians, gospel music enthusiasts and members of the public to turn up for the celebration, which carries the message: “Come in faith, leave in blessings.”
