SOROTI CITY - Teso social media influencer Caroline Apecho celebrated her birthday with a special community outreach at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital, where she joined friends and well-wishers to reach out to more than 15 mothers and their newborns.
The outreach, held at the hospital’s maternity ward, saw Apecho and her team visit mothers who had recently given birth and present assorted items, including basins, baby clothes, soap, sugar and other essential supplies.
Apecho said mothers are heroes who deserve to be celebrated, adding that the initiative was intended to recognise their important role in families and communities.
Adeke Ritah from Dakabela, who recently gave birth to a baby girl, said the items would reduce her immediate expenses. She thanked Apecho for the donation and wished her success.
Atim Teddy, who also received the items after giving birth to a baby boy, said the donation came at a timely moment and provided essential supplies for her and her newborn.
More than 15 mothers benefited from the birthday outreach, with Apecho also thanking her friends and well-wishers who joined the initiative and contributed towards making it possible.
Apecho said the birthday outreach was part of her wider community work, following recent school visits where she donated sanitary pads to pupils across Teso.
The initiatives are increasingly extending her public profile beyond social media, with community-focused activities aimed at addressing practical needs among vulnerable groups across the Teso sub-region.
