Two individuals have been reported to have been electrocuted to death and two others are nursing injuries after a failed attempt of stealing a three phase electric wire transmission line.
The incident happened yesterday's night 27/11/2022 at around 21:20 PM in Awoja village, Awoja Parish, Aukot Sub-County in Soroti district where case vide SD REF 05/28/11/2022 and CRB 281/2022 were registered at Awoja Police station.
According to SP Ageca Oscar Gregg PRO East Kyoga Police in a press conference today, police in Soroti district visited the scene, conveyed the bodies of the deceased persons to Soroti regional referral hospital and shall remained to manage the situation.
The deceased persons have been identified as one Atachu Moses 28 years old and Epou Isaac 29 years old who were blood brothers while the injured persons are Esuri Samuel 23 years and and male Juvenile whose identity has been withheld because of his minority who are also cousin brothers, from the same village, and currently admitted at Soroti Regional referral hospital.
"We have noted with concern the increasing theft or attempt thereof of electricity installations and would like to appeal to the members of the general public not to engage in theft or vandalism of electricity installations since it's a dangerous and the Consequences can be dire", he added.
