SOROTI CITY — In a landmark spiritual event, Jeressar High School welcomed the Right Reverend Dr. Joseph Eciru Oliach, Bishop of Soroti Catholic Diocese, for its first-ever Catholic Mass held on campus. The occasion, held on Palm Sunday, was a moment of joy, reflection, and celebration for the entire school community.

Presiding over the liturgy, Bishop Eciru expressed heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional hospitality shown to him and his delegation. The Mass coincided with Palm Sunday, a significant day in the Christian calendar commemorating Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, making the event all the more meaningful.

"This is a historic and blessed day not only for Jeressar High School but also for the entire community,” Bishop Eciru remarked during his homily. “Bringing the Holy Mass here for the first time on Palm Sunday is a profound symbol of the school’s commitment to building a strong spiritual foundation. I am truly humbled by the warmth and hospitality shown to us."

The celebration was marked by spirited hymns, scripture readings, and a deeply engaging homily. Attended by students, staff, and parishioners from the surrounding community, the Mass underscored the school’s growing dedication to integrating spiritual development into its educational mission.
