Soroti City — In a remarkable gesture of faith and community support, Jeressar High School has donated 7 million Ugandan shillings to Soroti Catholic Church to aid in the construction of the Regina Caeli Church building. The contribution was formally handed over during a special Palm Sunday Mass held on the school’s premises, marking the first time Jeressar High School has hosted such a significant religious event.
The historic Mass was presided over by the Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Eciru Oliach, Bishop of Soroti Catholic Diocese, and attended by students, staff, and members of the church community. The occasion highlighted the school’s growing commitment to spiritual values and local development initiatives.
“I am deeply moved by this generous gift from Jeressar High School,” said Bishop Eciru Oliach. “This donation represents a significant step forward in our efforts to build a place of worship that will unite and nurture the growing Christian community in Soroti. The Regina Caeli Church will stand as a beacon of faith and fellowship for generations.”
