The Teso Journalists for Community Empowerment (TEJFOCE) has announced the postponement of the Soroti City West debate that was scheduled to take place on Friday, 19 December 2025, at Rhino Camp Hotel. According to the organizers, the decision was taken due to unavoidable circumstances that made it impossible to proceed with the event as planned.
In a statement released to the media, TEJFOCE emphasized that the postponement was not taken lightly, noting that the debate is a critical platform aimed at promoting informed civic engagement, accountability, and issue-based dialogue among leaders and the electorate of Soroti City West. The organization extended its apologies to the candidates, invited guests, partners, and members of the public who had prepared to attend the event.
TEJFOCE further assured the public that a new date for the debate will be communicated in due course through official channels. The organizers also revealed that additional debate line-ups are being prepared and will be announced soon as part of a broader program to enhance community participation and democratic discourse across the region.
