Centenary Bank has donated 100 bags of cement to St. Peter’s Cathedral of the Church of Uganda in Soroti Diocese to support the ongoing construction works at the cathedral.
The donation was delivered by a team from Centenary Bank led by the Chief Manager for Corporate and Institutional Banking, Mr. Rashid Musisi Ssemanda. Speaking during the handover, Mr. Ssemanda said the bank’s visit was primarily to pray with the church leadership and congregation, but also to extend tangible support toward the completion of the cathedral, whose construction is still underway.
He noted that this was not the first time Centenary Bank had supported the project, recalling that the bank made a similar contribution last year. Mr. Ssemanda emphasized that Centenary Bank is committed to continuing its support until the house of God is fully completed, in line with the bank’s spirit of community partnership and social responsibility.
Mr. Ssemanda further expressed appreciation to the Church of Uganda for its partnership with Centenary Bank, noting that many church-related accounts have been opened with the bank. He encouraged the people of the Teso sub-region to continue working with Centenary Bank, assuring them of reliable and improved banking services.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the church, the Vicar of St. Peter’s Cathedral, Rev. Boniface Esomu, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Centenary Bank for its continued support. He said the bank has stood with the church in many ways over the years, and described the donation of the 100 bags of cement as a significant contribution that will greatly aid the completion of the cathedral construction.
Rev. Esomu commended Centenary Bank for its commitment to supporting faith based initiatives and prayed for the continued growth and success of the bank as it serves communities across the region and the country.
