Isaac Orego, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer for the Soroti City East Parliamentary seat, has strongly dismissed rumors alleging that he has surrendered the party flag. Orego described the claims as false and misleading, accusing individuals moving through villages of deliberately deceiving voters. He maintained that he remains firmly in the race and is fully prepared to win the Soroti City East parliamentary seat.
Speaking during a campaign rally held at Swaria Primary School, Orego emphasized that leaders from the ruling NRM government are best positioned to deliver effective services to the people of Soroti City East. He cited the party’s experience in governance and its ability to influence national development priorities as key advantages.
Orego pledged to prioritize the rehabilitation of poor road networks within the constituency and to lobby for improved government infrastructure, particularly in public schools and other social service facilities. He further committed to supporting community-based and youth groups to promote economic empowerment and sustainable development.
The rally was also addressed by Acam Teddy, the NRM Mobilizer for the Teso sub-region, who called on residents to rally behind NRM candidates across all levels of leadership. She urged voters to continue supporting President Yoweri Museveni, citing peace, stability, and ongoing development initiatives as major achievements of the ruling party.
