Speak Anita Among has today flagged off the Amus College School Girls' Football Team that will travel to Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania for the CECAFA zonal qualifying tournament for the maiden African Schools Football Championship.
The squad composed of 15 players will take part in the CECAFA zonal qualifiers for the African schools football championship which will take place at the Azam stadium, Chamazi in Tanzania, between February 17-19th, 2023 at the 10,000-seater stadium in Mbagala.
The maiden African schools football championship is slated to take place in April 7th -9th, 2023.
The winners in the boys and girls category will bag home USD100,000, while the runners-up will take USD75, 000 and bronze medalists USD50, 000.
Amus College School is representing Uganda. The Speaker wished them a safe flight and good luck in the tournament.
