Teso College Aloet this week commemorated 71 years of academic excellence and leadership, with a colorful celebration bringing together alumni, students, staff, and dignitaries. The event was marked by reflections on the school’s impact and a renewed call for discipline, hard work, and visionary leadership among students.
Reverend Samuel Ediau, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, lauded the institution’s resilience, noting that while many schools have struggled or closed, Teso College Aloet has remained strong. “This college has continued to produce some of the most respected professionals and leaders from the Teso sub-region and across the country,” he said.
Rev. Ediau encouraged students to remain focused and avoid destructive habits. “Keep your minds clean avoid alcohol and other temptations. You are the pride of this institution, and that legacy must continue,” he emphasized.
Headteacher Julius Opasso, visibly moved by the turnout and support, thanked alumni and the community for their continued commitment. “We are proud of our past, but even more committed to building an even brighter future,” he said.
Notable inspirational speakers including Egadu Francis, Anyait Terresa Akorimo, and Alice Alaso inspired students to emulate strong character and strive for excellence. They urged learners to stay away from bad influences and remain committed to their academic goals.
Soroti City Resident Commissioner, Okurut John Michael, who served as the chief guest, praised Teso College Aloet for producing many of Uganda’s most influential figures. “This is not just a school ,it is a foundation for national transformation,” he said, urging students to honor that legacy through discipline and determination.
As the celebrations concluded, one message rang clear: Teso College Aloet stands not just as a school, but as a symbol of excellence and hope for Uganda’s future.
