Nollywood Icon Mr Ibu Passes Away at 62

Nollywood veteran John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has sadly passed away at the age of 62. He succumbed to cardiac arrest at Evercare Hospital, leaving behind a legacy cherished by fans worldwide.

 

The news of his demise, confirmed by the President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, has left the entertainment industry and fans in mourning. Alongside condolences for Mr Ibu, who had been battling health issues and underwent multiple surgeries, the industry is still reeling from the loss of another veteran actor, Quadri Oyebamiji, known as Sisi Quadri.

 

Mr Ibu's journey in the spotlight was not without its challenges. In past years, he spoke out about alleged attempts on his life, revealing disturbing incidents of poisoning. Despite these adversities, he remained resilient, attributing his survival to the care of medical professionals and his faith.

 

As tributes pour in from colleagues and fans, Mr Ibu's contributions to Nollywood and his indelible mark on the industry will be remembered fondly.
