AMURIA – In a bid to promote educational excellence and cultural pride, Papa Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng visited Orungo High School, where he addressed pressing local challenges and encouraged the student body to focus on their academic and cultural development.

The visit highlighted Emorimor’s dedication to improving both infrastructure and education in the region, with a particular focus on the school’s water crisis and fostering a sense of heritage among the youth.

Upon his arrival, Emorimor was warmly welcomed by the school’s headteacher, Ocaga Peter, and a gathering of eager students. The headteacher presented a report outlining the ongoing water shortage affecting the school, and in response, Emorimor pledged to collaborate with local and district leaders to secure a borehole for the school, ensuring a sustainable water supply for the community.

While addressing the students, Emorimor stressed the importance of education in overcoming challenges such as the rising school dropout rates. He emphasized the need for discipline, respect, and hard work, urging students to prioritize their studies in order to achieve academic success and contribute to the betterment of the community.

“To succeed, you must be disciplined, respect your parents and teachers, and stay focused on your academic goals,” Emorimor said. “The values of hard work and integrity are the foundation for a successful future.”

In addition to advocating for academic excellence, Emorimor underscored the significance of cultural education. Drawing inspiration from the Zulu Kingdom, he reminded the students of the importance of understanding and preserving their cultural heritage. He explained that knowledge of one’s roots is a key component of personal development, helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with confidence.

“A tree that does not know its roots cannot bear fruit,” Emorimor stated. “Similarly, those who grow up disconnected from their culture will struggle to thrive in life.”

Emorimor also proposed the establishment of a cultural club at Orungo High School, where students would have the opportunity to explore and celebrate their cultural heritage. He encouraged the students to speak their local languages, take pride in their traditions, and use their cultural knowledge as a foundation for academic success.

Her Royal Majesty Juliet Among Emolot Atomeileng, who accompanied Emorimor on the visit, echoed his sentiments, urging students to seek wisdom through hard work and prayer. She also emphasized the importance of embracing their cultural identity, advocating for students to dress well and speak their native language as part of their personal development.

Emorimor’s visit to Orungo High School reinforced his ongoing commitment to improving education, culture, and infrastructure in the region. His pledge to address the school’s water crisis, combined with his focus on educational and cultural empowerment, aims to provide the youth of Orungo with the tools needed for a brighter and more prosperous future.

The visit left a lasting impact on the students, inspiring them to embrace both their academic pursuits and their cultural heritage as they work toward building a successful future for themselves and their community.
