After 13 Years as Deputy, Joseph Echegem Rises to Headteacher of Dakabela Comprehensive School

After 13 years of dedicated service as a Deputy Headteacher, Joseph Echegem, popularly known among students as "Lo Professo Chegs," has been appointed the new Headteacher of Dakabela Comprehensive School.
 
Echegem, who has been serving as Deputy Headteacher in charge of Administration at Soroti Secondary School, will officially assume office as Headteacher of Dakabela Comprehensive School on August 1, beginning a new chapter in his distinguished career in education leadership.
 
The appointment follows a successful 13-year journey in school administration, during which Echegem served as Deputy Headteacher in four different secondary schools. His leadership experience includes Kuju Seed Secondary School, Amuria Secondary School, Bubulo Secondary School in Mbale, and Soroti Secondary School, where he served for seven years.
 
At Dakabela Comprehensive School, Echegem is expected to use his extensive experience in administration, teaching, and institutional management to strengthen teamwork, academic performance, discipline, and overall school development.
 
The newly appointed Headteacher brings a strong academic background to his new assignment. He holds a Master’s Degree in Education Administration and Management from Uganda Martyrs University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from the Islamic University in Uganda, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education Leadership and Management from Kyambogo University.
 
He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Kyambogo University, a Diploma in Secondary Education from Kyambogo University, and a Certificate in Administrative Law from Makerere University.
 
Speaking about his vision for Dakabela Comprehensive School, Echegem said he will continue promoting values that have guided his leadership career, including effective teaching, teamwork, and cooperation.
 
"Staff should expect from me teaching, teamwork, and cooperation. These are the principles I have always promoted in my work, including during my time at Soroti Secondary School," he said.
 

As Joseph Echegem takes charge of Dakabela Comprehensive School, stakeholders have expressed confidence that his experience, qualifications, and leadership skills will contribute to the continued growth and improvement of the school.
