David Calvin Echodu, an aspirant for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for the Eastern Region, has embarked on a strategic outreach to solidify his support base, meeting with delegates from Kyenjojo and Kyegegwa districts this past week.

The engaging sessions, spearheaded by influential local NRM leaders, underscored Echodu's commitment to revitalizing the ruling party's presence and operations across the region.

The meetings were prominently attended and led by the respective District NRM Chairpersons, Nkonke Edward of Kyenjojo and Byaboona Wilson of Kyegegwa, alongside a robust delegation of party delegates.

During the discussions, Echodu took the opportunity to express his profound gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni for his continued leadership and vision for Uganda.

He then pivoted to outline his ambitious agenda, pledging to infuse the NRM with "new energy" should he be elected to the Vice Chairperson position.

Echodu’s vision for the Eastern Region is multifaceted, with a strong emphasis on strengthening the party from the ground up. Key pillars of his proposed strategy include:

Recognizing Grassroots Mobilizers: Echodu emphasized the indispensable role of grassroots mobilizers, promising to implement mechanisms that formally acknowledge and reward their dedication and efforts in propagating the NRM agenda.

Training Party Cadres:Understanding the need for a well-informed and motivated party base, he committed to establishing comprehensive training programs for NRM cadres, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to effectively serve and represent the party.

Establishing Party Offices:To enhance the party's visibility and accessibility, Echodu pledged to advocate for and support the establishment of functional party offices across the region, creating hubs for communication, organization, and community engagement.

Improving Access to Credit:Recognizing the economic challenges faced by many party members and supporters, Echodu highlighted his intention to work towards improving access to credit facilities, thereby fostering economic empowerment and aligning with the NRM's commitment to development.

The delegates from both Kyenjojo and Kyegegwa districts reportedly responded positively to Echodu's proposals. They expressed appreciation for his proactive approach and his clear commitment to serving the people.

His focus on tangible improvements at the local level resonated with the delegates, who are keen to see the NRM continue to deliver on its promises and strengthen its connection with the electorate.

The meetings serve as a clear indication of the ongoing internal political discourse within the NRM as it prepares for future leadership selections.

David Calvin Echodu's engagement with key stakeholders in Kyenjojo and Kyegegwa demonstrates a determined effort to build momentum and articulate a compelling case for his candidacy as a transformative leader.
