Monica Asako an aspirant for woman member of Parliament for Kalaki District , has ignited a groundswell of support across Kakure Subcounty with a compelling vision that promises to uplift and transform communities.

In a dynamic campaign tour held on Friday, July 11, Asako visited the parishes of Opungure, Kakure, and Oyomai, where she received an enthusiastic welcome from thousands of residents eager to hear her message. Backed by her deep-rooted ties to the region and her late father Brig. Gen. Charles Oluka’s legacy, Asako’s message struck a chord with constituents who are hungry for development, inclusion, and change.

Addressing vibrant crowds at each stop, Asako laid out her bold, community-centered manifesto focused on four key pillars: transparency in leadership, access to quality healthcare, educational reform, and economic empowerment for women and youth.

“We cannot move forward as a community when half of our people are left behind,” Asako stated. “Empowering our women and youth is not just a promise; it is a necessity. My mission is to ensure that no one is excluded from opportunities that bring growth and dignity.”

A core element of her manifesto centers on boosting women-led entrepreneurship, especially in agriculture and crafts. Her proposed programs include training, funding access, and local cooperative support designed to help women scale their businesses and improve household incomes.

Equally significant are her plans to introduce youth skills development programs, with a focus on agricultural innovation, digital literacy, and vocational training critical for a region where agriculture forms the economic backbone.

Jacob Okello, a farmer from Opungure Parish, expressed confidence in Asako’s leadership:
“She understands our challenges because she listens. Her ideas are practical and focused on real needs. We’re ready to vote for her come July 17.”

Another supporter, Grace Amaro of Oyomai Parish, praised Asako’s connection with the grassroots:
“For the first time, we feel like our issues are being taken seriously. Asako speaks with both heart and knowledge.”

Adding to the energy of the day’s events, popular local musician Cool Ug performed at the rallies, drawing even larger crowds and reinforcing a sense of unity and optimism. The music, combined with Asako’s inspiring speeches, created a festival-like atmosphere that left a lasting impression on attendees.

As the NRM primaries draw closer, Asako Monica continues to build momentum, driven by her clear policy proposals, personal integrity, and unwavering commitment to the people of Kakure.

Her campaign, rooted in listening and action, signals a new chapter for the subcounty one that many voters believe is long overdue.
