Soroti District - Jeressar High School has yet again raised the academic flag high for Soroti District, with five of its top students earning government sponsorship under the prestigious District Quota Scheme for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The news was confirmed by the Academic Registrar’s Department of Makerere University, listing students recommended for admission, subject to verification by their respective District Local Councils.

Out of a highly competitive pool of candidates from various schools across the district, Jeressar High School stood out prominently – securing more government-sponsored university slots than any other school in Soroti.

The five outstanding students from Jeressar High School include:

Egweru Charles – Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Mbarara University of Science and Technology

Adupo Mary Gorrety – Bachelor of Arts in Education, Makerere University

Erongu Boniface – Bachelor of Environmental Health Science, Makerere University

Opio Aaron – Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Computer Engineering, Soroti University

Aguret Paul – Bachelor of Arts with Education, Makerere University

The school’s stellar performance continues to reinforce its position as one of the leading centers of academic excellence in the Teso sub-region.
