As the National Resistance Movement (NRM) delegates conference draws near, Speaker Anita Among's campaign for the party's Central Executive Committee (CEC) position of 2nd National Vice Chairperson (Female) wrapped up its Teso Sub-region tour today, garnering strong assurances of support from local delegates.

The campaign team, led by Workers MP Hon. Arinaitwe Rwakajara, made its final stops in Kapelebyong and Bukedea districts, where delegates pledged full backing for Speaker Among’s bid.

Addressing delegates in Kapelebyong District earlier, Hon. Rwakajara emphasized the importance of a strong leadership within the party. "The NRM, our party, is strong because we have a strong Speaker," he stated, urging delegates to entrust their votes to Rt. Hon. Anita Among. He added, "There is no simple battle; we must continue mobilizing support for Rt. Hon. Annet Anita Among."

District Chairperson Akorikin Francis assured the campaign team of unwavering support. "We want to assure you that the Rt. Hon. Annet Anita Among has 100% support from Kapelebyong," Akorikin affirmed.

However, local leaders also used the opportunity to highlight a range of challenges and demands specific to the district, including the need for a new county, establishment of a technical school, infrastructure development, addressing salary disparities, and the appointment of cadres in various government positions.

The campaign's conclusion in Bukedea District saw delegates, who met at Bukedea Comprehensive Stadium, declare their support a "done deal." They vowed not only to vote for Speaker Among but also to mobilize support for her from other regions during the upcoming voting day.

Mr. Okello Moses, the Secretary for the Workers League in Bukedea, extended gratitude to Hon. Rwakajara for his dedication to the campaign. "We want to see how we can collaborate and continue lobbying for our daughter," he remarked, underscoring the collaborative spirit.

Echoing the sentiments of local appreciation, Mr. Becham Okwere, the NRM Flagbearer for Bukedea County MP seat, applauded Speaker Among for her role in fostering development in the region. "Anita going to CEC is of added advantage as she will bring more development opportunities to the region and Uganda at large," Okwere affirmed, expressing his commitment to mobilizing further support for her top CEC position.

With the NRM delegates conference rapidly approaching, the concluding rallies in Teso underscore the strong grassroots support Speaker Among's bid has garnered, with her team expressing confidence in her chances for the influential CEC position.
