Teso’s talented songwriter and singer Francis Angiro, popularly known to many as Iboyan, has made history by becoming the first artist from Teso to collaborate with Uganda’s celebrated superstar Eddy Kenzo of the Big Talent Entertainment label. The duo’s new song, titled “Pressure”, has officially been released, marking a major breakthrough in Iboyan’s musical journey.
The song was produced at Big Talent Record Studios following an agreement between the two artists. Speaking to journalists ahead of his upcoming concert, Iboyan revealed that the collaboration was born after Eddy Kenzo fell in love with the song’s rhythm and message when he first heard it.
“He called me and said we should make a collaboration of the song and requested me to travel to Kampala with the original project. I agreed, but we had to remove the political lyrics. Eddy Kenzo loved the kadodi beats, and after we completed the song, he said he would finance the video shoot, which will be done in Mbale City,” Iboyan shared.
The artist further noted that the collaboration is a big achievement not only for his career but also for the entire Teso music industry, which is steadily gaining recognition on the national stage.
When asked about Eddy Kenzo’s possible involvement in his upcoming “Aka Aminat” concert, Iboyan said that while Kenzo is currently engaged with national assignments, the two have plans to discuss the matter further.
“He is busy in the field sourcing support for the President, but we’ll definitely talk about it and give feedback to the public,” Iboyan stated.
The excitement around the collaboration hit its peak when Eddy Kenzo shared the “Pressure” artwork on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, sparking massive reactions from fans across the country.
“Love from Teso with my brother Iboyan #Pressure,” Kenzo wrote, confirming the partnership and silencing those who had doubted its authenticity.
With this project, Iboyan joins a short list of artists from Eastern Uganda making national headlines. He follows Benza Man of the Sky Echoes Music label, who earlier created a drop of the Ateso language in Eddy Kenzo’s hit “Mbawe”.
The release of “Pressure” is not just a win for Iboyan—it is a proud moment for Teso, showcasing the region’s growing influence in Uganda’s music industry.
