The State Minister for ICT and National guidance Hon. Peter Ogwang yesterday donated two Infrared thermometers to Katakwi district COVID-19 taskforce.
The Items were received by District Health Officer, Sam Amali who thanked the minister for his kind work towards supporting health care in the district.
Philip Odeke, Katakwi Health Educator also confirmed that the machines were in perfect working condition. He added that they willl aid for screening people with high body temperatures as a measure of identifying COVID-19 suspects.
Health experts note that a person with temperatures ranging from 37.5 to 38 when tested with this machines are suspects and therefore further examination should be considered.
Michael Malinga, Personal Assistant to Peter Ogwang stated that their office is commited to supporting the needy as part of corporate social responsibilty.
The two thermometers will be used at Katakwi main Hospiatal and Katakwi main markets which always converge big numbers of people.
