Bukedea County — Parliamentary aspirant Silas Opejo has intensified his grassroots mobilisation efforts through a series of meet-and-greet sessions across key communities in Bukedea County in Bukedea District as he gears up for the 2026 general elections.

The two-day outreach, which started today and concludes on Thursday, 20th, 2025, is designed to give voters a direct platform to express their concerns and expectations. Opejo, who is seeking the Bukedea County seat under the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), says the engagements are central to shaping a people-driven campaign.

He began his tour in Mother Malera and Mother Kolir, with additional meetings scheduled in Mother Kidongole and Mother Bukedea. The sessions draw participation from community leaders, youth, women’s groups, and residents eager to discuss development priorities within the county.

Among the issues frequently raised are land rights, improved healthcare services, enhanced education, and increased opportunities for the youth. Opejo’s team notes that these consultations will guide the formulation of his policy focus as he prepares for the official campaign period.
