Kampala — The Parliament of Uganda has officially communicated the burial arrangements for the late Hon. Stella Apolot Isodo, the former Woman Member of Parliament for Ngora District, who passed away on Saturday, 17 January 2026.
In a statement released on behalf of Parliament and the family of Mr. Isodo Samuel of Osigiria Village, Ngora District, Parliament confirmed that a series of official and family-led activities have been scheduled to honour the life and service of the fallen legislator.
According to the programme, a special parliamentary session will be held on Wednesday, 21st January 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM, followed by a vigil at her residence in Namugongo. The following day, Thursday, 22nd January, a funeral service will take place at Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) Church in Soroti starting at 11:00 AM.
Another vigil is scheduled for Friday, 23rd January 2026, at her ancestral home in Osigiria Village, Ngora Town Council, ahead of the burial ceremony planned for Saturday, 24th January 2026. The final service will begin at 10:00 AM, after which she will be laid to rest at her ancestral home.
Parliament has formally informed the Right Honourable Speaker, the Deputy Speaker, Members of Parliament, parliamentary management, relatives, friends, and in-laws of the burial arrangements.
Hon. Stella Apolot Isodo was widely recognised for her commitment to public service and advocacy for women and community development in Ngora District and the wider Teso sub-region. During her tenure in Parliament, she was known for her outspoken leadership and dedication to improving the welfare of her constituents.
Her passing has drawn tributes from colleagues, political leaders, and residents across the country, many of whom have described her as a passionate leader whose contribution to national and regional development will be remembered.
As preparations continue, Parliament has called upon the public to join in honouring the life and legacy of the late legislator.
