Legendary Teso singer Wako David Otuko, popularly known as Davido Spider, has officially announced plans for a grand comeback concert.
The iconic artist, who has been largely absent from the music industry for the past seven years, broke the news directly to his fans via a video posted on his official TikTok page.
"Due to public demand, I will be staging my concert this year in Kampala city," Davido Spider declared in the video, confirming the long-awaited return of one of the region's most celebrated musical figures.
The concert, ambitiously dubbed “The Return of the Giant,” promises to be a landmark event. The singer emphasized that it is set to be "one of the biggest events in the history of Teso music," signalling his intent to make a powerful re-entry into the limelight.
While specific details are still being finalized, Davido Spider provided some initial insights into the planning. He revealed that his team is considering two potential dates: November 21st or November 28th, 2023.
The choice of venue is also under discussion, with the artist listing several of Kampala's premier event locations. "We are looking at Kololo [Independence Grounds], City Royale Bugolobi, Lugogo [Cricket Oval], or Serena [Hotel]," he stated, indicating a preference for a large-scale, high-profile setting worthy of the occasion.
Davido Spider’s musical hiatus, which spans the last seven years, was primarily due to his focus on other successful business ventures. His absence left a notable void in the Teso music genre, which he helped popularize nationally with his distinctive style and hit songs.
