SOROTI - A number of mothers were filled with joy and appreciation as Miraculous Synagogue Church organized a special Mother’s Day Sunday service aimed at celebrating and uplifting women for their vital role in families and society.
The colorful celebration, held at the church premises along Lale Road in Soroti City West, saw mothers receive a variety of essential items and gifts as a sign of love and recognition for their dedication and sacrifice. Among the items distributed were gomesis, mosquito nets for pregnant women, pampers, posho, sugar, soap, children’s clothes, and several other household necessities.
The event attracted believers, community members, and mothers from different parts of Soroti, many of whom expressed gratitude to the church for the thoughtful support during the special occasion. The atmosphere was filled with praise, worship, prayers, and thanksgiving as mothers celebrated their day in a unique way.
Speaking during the service, Geowell Emanu commended mothers for their unwavering love, commitment, and care towards their families and children. He noted that women continue to play a major role in shaping responsible generations through guidance, sacrifice, and nurturing.
He further encouraged mothers to remain steadfast in faith and continue promoting unity, discipline, and love within their homes and communities.
“We appreciate mothers for the sacrifices they make every day for their children and families. Their commitment and love towards the young generation is a blessing to society,” Geowell Emanu said during his address.
The church leader also offered prayers for all mothers, asking God to grant them good health, protection, strength, and long life so they may witness their children grow into responsible and successful people.
Several mothers who attended the service described the celebration as memorable and impactful, saying the support from the church would greatly help their families. Others praised the church leadership for recognizing the importance of honoring mothers and supporting vulnerable women in the community.
