Amuria District — Concern over the whereabouts of Amuria District Woman Member of Parliament Margaret Etilu continues to grow, with religious leaders, family members, political supporters, and members of the public calling for answers as uncertainty surrounding her disappearance deepens.

The growing anxiety has prompted a special Day of Prayer scheduled for Thursday, June 4, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lepanto–Asamuk in Amuria District, where Christians and well-wishers will gather to seek divine intervention on behalf of the legislator.

Organizers of the prayer event say the gathering is intended to unite the community in faith as concerns mount over Etilu's reported disappearance. Prayers will focus on her safety, good health, justice, quick release, and God's blessings.

Reports indicate that Etilu has not been seen publicly since late May, sparking widespread speculation and concern among her constituents and fellow leaders. Her absence from public engagements and parliamentary activities has intensified calls for clarity regarding her situation.

In response, church leaders and supporters have turned to prayer, citing faith as a source of hope amid the uncertainty. The day-long programme will begin at 8:00 a.m. with prayers and Eucharistic Adoration, before concluding with a Special Holy Mass at 4:00 p.m.

The event draws inspiration from the biblical passage Acts 12:5, which recounts how the early Church prayed fervently for Peter while he was imprisoned as the scripture reflects their conviction that united prayer can bring comfort, hope, and divine intervention in times of distress.

As questions surrounding Etilu's whereabouts continue to dominate public discussion, many residents of Amuria and beyond are expected to join the prayer gathering in solidarity with the legislator and her family

The theme of the event, "Together in Faith. United in Prayer. Trusting in God," captures the spirit of a community seeking hope and answers amid growing concern over the fate of one of its elected.
