AMURIA - Minister Musa Francis Ecweru has praised Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng for his significant contributions to the Iteso Cultural Union (ICU), highlighting his transformative leadership during a recent event of Ateker Re -Union Festival.
Speaking at the burial of the late Jones Eceru Oluma, the former ICU Deputy Prime Minister, Ecweru acknowledged the progress made under Emorimor's leadership in areas such as education, economic development, and security.
Ecweru emphasized that despite Emorimor's short tenure of just two years, his achievements have made a notable impact, instilling pride among the Iteso community, especially those living in Kampala and beyond.
“Papa Emorimor, I am very proud of You, you have made the flag of Teso to fly again, you have displayed the exceptional leadership and restored trust”, he stated
He contrasted the current administration's accountability and visibility with the previous regime, which he claimed hindered support from the Teso Parliamentary group.
The minister called for unity among rival factions, urging them to engage in dialogue and prioritize development in the Teso region.
He also mentioned Emorimor's ambitious plans for the future, including significant projects like the construction of a palace and various development initiatives, stressing the need for collective support from all Teso leaders and development partners to realize these goals.
