This afternoon, Vice President Jessica Alupo brought joy to residents of Canan Village, Achuna Parish in Angodingod Sub County, by restoring a borehole that had been non-functional for 15 years.
The community celebrated the intervention, with many describing it as a long-awaited answer to a major need. Opio Julius Peter, a resident, noted that the lack of clean water had greatly affected the youth, some of whom had abandoned basic hygiene practices. “Now with water back, they’ll be clean and healthy,” he said.
Acen Florence, another resident, expressed relief that school children would no longer struggle with villagers over water or walk long distances to find it.
This marks yet another step in VP Alupo’s grassroots-focused service, improving access to safe water and transforming lives in rural Katakwi.
