Halcyon High School Serere has emerged as one of the top performers at the Serere District Uganda National Students' Association (UNSA) competitions, clinching top honors in multiple categories and earning qualification for the 2026 national championships.
The competitions, held at Serere Secondary School, featured three major categories: debating, poetry, and public speaking. Schools were required to present one participant each for poetry and public speaking, and a team of three for debating.
Halcyon High School fielded contestants in all three categories and delivered an outstanding performance, emerging winners in two categories, debating and poetry. Their victory earned them a total of four gold medals, underscoring their dominance at the district level.
The school’s debating team, comprising Elietu David Adonai, Otukwatse Brilliant, and Esadu Isaac, was recognized as the best in the category after a series of impressive performances. In poetry, Acero Grace Maeve stood out as the top performer, securing another gold for the school.
In addition to the students’ success, Onyonga Noel was honored as the Best Patron, highlighting the critical role of mentorship and guidance in the team’s achievement.
Following their stellar performance, the winners have secured an automatic qualification to represent Serere District at the UNSA Nationals in 2026.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for Halcyon High School Serere, reinforcing its growing reputation for excellence in co-curricular activities and student leadership development.
