As the race for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Central Executive Committee (CEC) Eastern Region representative heats up, a clear distinction is emerging between the incumbent’s politics of division and Mr Echodu’s vision-driven agenda for the party’s future.
While the incumbent NRM National Vice Chairperson has dedicated effort to blackmail and character assassination against Mr Echodu, Mr Echodu has risen above the mudslinging to run a policy-focused campaign aimed at strengthening the NRM’s grassroots foundation and empowering its cadres.
Echodu’s Transformative Agenda for NRM Eastern Region
1. Grassroots Mobilization & Party Revitalization
Echodu’s plan prioritizes reconnecting the party with its grassroots base, ensuring that NRM structures are active, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of members at all levels.
2. Cadre Identification, Recruitment & Training
Unlike the incumbent’s divisive tactics, Echodu seeks to institutionalize a structured system for identifying, recruiting, and training cadres to ensure a strong leadership pipeline for the party.
3. NRM Leaders’ SACCOs for Economic Empowerment
Recognizing the financial struggles of many party loyalists, Echodu proposes the creation of NRM Leaders’ SACCOs to provide cadres with access to affordable credit for investments, boosting economic activity across Eastern Uganda.
4. Attracting Investments to Eastern Uganda
Echodu is committed to bridging the investment gap in the region by leveraging his networks and advocating for policies that attract businesses, create jobs, and spur development.
5. Strengthening Party Discipline & Conflict Resolution
The NRM has suffered from internal wrangles due to weak disciplinary structures. Echodu’s plan includes Reviving and operationalizing the Disciplinary and Conflict Resolution Committees to foster unity and accountability.
6. Ending Hypocrisy & Double Standards
Echodu’s leadership will promote fairness and transparency, ensuring that all members are treated equally unlike the current environment where favoritism and hypocrisy thrive.
A Clear Choice: Progress vs. Petty Politics
This CEC race is separating the boys from the men. While one side engages in cheap smear campaigns, Echodu is offering real solutions to revitalize the NRM and secure its future.
The people of Eastern Uganda deserve a leader who prioritizes development over defamation, unity over division, and action over empty rhetoric.
