Ugandan dancer Patricia, popularly known by her stage name Sitya Loss, has recounted a traumatic experience following a serious motorbike accident that nearly claimed her life.
In a candid social media post, Patricia revealed that she was involved in a motorbike crash that left her badly injured. According to her account, the accident occurred while she was traveling on a boda?boda motorcycle en route to an event, when the driver lost control. She described being thrown from the bike and landing abruptly on the road, sustaining multiple injuries.
She thanked her fans, friends, and medical staff for their support during her recovery process. She said the healing journey has been painful, with trauma, physical pain, and reports of internal wounds. Despite that, she expressed gratitude for being alive and pledged to return stronger in her music career.
Close associates and fellow artists visited her in hospital, bringing messages of encouragement, flowers, and prayers. Several key figures in the Ugandan music industry have publicly shared their support and called for enhanced safety on urban roads.
In her message, Patricia appealed to boda?boda operators and commuters alike to prioritize safety, wear helmets, and drive cautiously — underscoring Uganda’s high rates of road accidents involving motorcycles.
The story has drawn attention to the perils faced by public figures and ordinary citizens alike on Ugandan roads, renewing calls from civil society for stricter regulation, better infrastructure, and public awareness campaigns on road safety.
