Teso’s legendary gospel singer Faith Amoding has opened up about her marriage and how it greatly affected her music career for a number of years.
Amoding who hails from Kumi district, while having an exclusive interview with this website narrated her agony while in her marriage to the extent of quitting music for few years.
‘’I got married to a Muslim man but as a Christian, I asked him to join me in our church and he was later named Michael Okiring but as time moved, we got two children together and all are boys, later I started seeing things change as I saw my career slowly dying and my being close to the church as I had to pause ministry and that was in 2011, 12, 13 and 14’’ she narrated.
She also explained that the changes that she experienced believed to be caused by her marriage made the church put her into the discipline as the church wasn’t happy with her ways a move that psychologically tortured her as people gossiped about her where ever she went to.
‘’The church gave me time to realize my actions, later in 2015, I released a song titled ‘’Siri ikwenar eong’’ a local song meaning ‘’don’t laugh at me’’ as it was a song about my life as many people thought that my career was gone’’ she said in an agonizing voice.
To come out of that pain, Amoding had to undergo counseling from the church, friends, and her family that stood by her side.
Later, after realizing her mistakes, Amoding wrote to the church elders, spoke to them, and was given time to be assessed by the church elders and was gladly welcomed back to the church after apologizing.
‘’Even during the discipline process as it was my worst moment in life, I still had my talent in me, in 2019 November 30th, I had one big show in Soroti public gardens attended by a great number of people as marriage became my past as it gave me my worst moment in life’’
Singer Amoding has however revealed that she will get married in the future if God brings the right man to her life.
