The Soroti Regional referral hospital covid 19 vaccination team has raised concerns over the poor turn up by the public for the ongoing vaccination exercise.

Ghanim Suleiman a member of the vaccination team and a VHT of cell G central ward in Soroti city attributes the poor turn up to poor sensitization by the leaders and the fake social media rumors spreading around the public that the vaccine has side effects that can make one fail to have children.

He testifies that the vaccine has got no effects as it has never affected his sexual desires after he got vaccinated and urged the public to take the vaccination seriously and stop listening to the rumors.

‘’ I strongly support the idea of the top city leaders of denying the public access to public services without vaccination cards but I also blame some public servants who are still fearing to go for the vaccination yet they should be leading by example’’ he said

The Soroti district chairperson Hon. Edoru Simon peter Ekuu also urged the public to continue observing the SOP’s and embrace the ongoing covid 19 vaccination.

By press time, about 56 people were vaccinated.
