SOROTI – A group of prominent Teso artists from various districts today convened at Hyde Park in Soroti to elect the executive committee for the Sevo Teso Artists Mobilization Project (STAMP), an initiative specifically designed to rally support for President Yoweri Museveni ahead of the 2026 general elections.
STAMP, which stands for Sevo Teso Artists Mobilization Project, aims to leverage the influence and reach of artists across the Teso Sub-region to garner popular backing for the incumbent president in the upcoming electoral cycle.
During the meeting, veteran artist Davido Spider was overwhelmingly re-elected as the Chairman of STAMP, signalling continuity and confidence in his leadership. He will be deputized by Ibwalet Silver. King Daniel was entrusted with the crucial role of Treasurer, while Felippe and Allen Al were elected as Secretary and Assistant Secretary, respectively. Other artists elected to join the executive committee include Naffz Cee and Angiro Francis, among others, forming a diverse team tasked with implementing the project's objectives.
The newly elected executive immediately set a key date for the project's official launch. A mega launch event is scheduled for September 27th at Kumi Boma Grounds, expected to draw a large crowd and feature performances from a multitude of artists from across the Teso Sub-region. This event will likely serve as the public unveiling of STAMP's full mobilization strategy.
